Here’s some information about the Half-Brothers themselves, Stan Koba and Heshy Moses.

STAN KOBA
Born: August 9, 1951
Place of Birth: Middletown, Connecticut
Marital status: Married with four children
Favorite musician with deepest musical effect: Dan Fogelberg / Beatles
Accomplishment: There are many but one of the most memorable was five days at the original Woodstock.

Brief:
Stan hails from Middletown Conn. He sang most of his life in Catholic schools and in plays and minstrels. He started taking guitar lessons in fifth grade and continued as a result of his mom’s pressure for a little over a year. He never put the instrument down after that. Early on, he was in a very popular band, “The Critic’s Choice” which stayed together for 5 years. The band was performing throughout his years in high school and achieved some notoriety in New England.

Upon graduation from Central Connecticut State College in 1973, he moved to Freehold New Jersey to work as a high school history teacher. There he met his half-brother, Heshy, and the two began playing music together in March of 1974. Acting upon the encouragement of some fellow teachers, the two played for a few small teacher get-togethers and then were persuaded to try out the sound in a bar. They landed a night at a dive called “The Happy Pickle”, which was in Red Bank. They liked the response and kept it going by getting a somewhat permanent gig at “The Red Ranch”, in Brielle.

The rest is history. The two have continued to change outside of music but still remain the same. Heshy has since retired from teaching, and Stan has moved to Howell High School as a Supervisor of two departments.

HESHY MOSES
Born: May 19, 1949
Place of birth: Asbury Park, N.J.

He taught one year at Camden High School and the rest (30 years) at Freehold Boro High School teaching psychology and coaching varisity soccer. There he met his half brother, Stan, and they have been playing together for 30 years!!! “rock and roll will never die”
